PS Chairman removed for alleged misconduct

THIRAPPANE: Thirappane Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman K.B. Munasinghe (UNP) has been removed from his post and the Pradeshiya Sabha membership with immediate effect by North Central Province Chief Minister Berty Premalal Dissanayake for alleged misconduct and inefficiency.

Dissanayake said he has issued this order in a special gazette notification in terms of powers vested in him by section 185 (3) (A) (1) of the Pradeshiya Sabha Act No. 15 of 1987.

Thirappane Pradeshiya Sabha Vice Chairman Yusuf Mohamed has been appointed to act for the chairman and oversee his functions.
