Information network system to streamline NHDA activities
COLOMBO: The National Housing Development Authority (NHDA)
will set up an information network system under the guidance of the
Housing and Construction Ministry.
The prime objective of this network system is to collect housing data
and information in all parts of the country including the North and
East. The NHDA said this new information network will mostly work along
the disaster prone coastal belt.
This network system will be implemented with the assistance of the
German Technical Co-operation (GTZ) funded by the German Federal
Ministry of Economic Co-operation and Development.
Digital cameras and other technical equipment to set up information
network system were handed over to NHDA General Manager Wasantha
Wijeratne by GTZ Technical Advisor Hike Ebert at the TTZ Colombo office
on February 08 in connection with this programme.
Ebert said when a situation like the tsunami disaster, officials
involved in the housing sector are essential to collect and report the
information and datas regarding the housing programme.
"The GTZ intends to assist the NHDA to set up this system based on
the coastal belt of Sri Lanka," she said.
An information network system can help streamline the housing
programme of the NHDA implemented islandwide.
