Indian softball cricket team to play three one-dayers in Sri Lanka
Softball Cricket -Two officials of the Sri Lanka Softball Cricket
Federation, General Secretary, K. B. Annesley Mendis and Asst. Gen.
Secretary, M. Mangala P. Perera who were in India recently had
successful discussions with the Softball Cricket Federation of India.
As a result, the Softball Cricket Team will play three 40 over One
Day Internationals from 28th September to 4th October 2006 in Sri Lanka.
Both Indian and Sri Lankan officials decided that the men's tournament
would be played every year.
Asian Softball Cricket Board. President, Simrathpal Singh Marwah,
Secretary, Adv. Rajesh R. Rewatkar, Joint Secretary, Aniruddha S. Bagde
and Committee Members were represented India. Simrathpal Singh Marwah
from India was appointed as President, Asian Softball Cricket Board, K.
B. Annesley Mendis and M. Mangala P. Perera from Sri Lanka appointed as
General Secretary and Vice President respectively.
After formation of ASCB, newly appointed General Secretary, Mendis
said that "the mission of this Board to improve the Softball Cricket
Standard upto International level. We are inviting other Asian countries
to come forward and join us.
We try to build up our friendship all Softball Cricket Countries and
will organize tournaments among other countries. In addition, workshops,
Umpire Seminars, Coaching Camps. On the other hand all Asian Countries
have a opportunity to play Softball Cricket under one Rule and
regulations." |
