Donald Steel Golf c'ship on Feb. 4-5

THE annual Donald Steel Golf championship 2006 organised by the Victoria Golf and Country Resort will be worked off at the picturesque Victoria Golf Course at Rajawella off Kandy on February 4 and 5 (Saturday/Sunday) with the tee off at 7. a.m. on both days.

Apart from the Donald Steel Trophy, there will also other championship events like the Victoria Bowl, Pam Fernando Cup, Ebert's Pot and also awards or the Longest Drive, Nearest to the Pin Hole in one and other events.

Fifteen year old schoolboy from Wycherly International School, Colombo Binupa Wijesinghe is defending champion of the Donald Steel trophy. He was the youngest to win this prestigious trophy when he got 63 gross pushing a former winner Alian Gyi into the runner up position.

The Pam Fernando Cup was won by Suwen Selvaratnam in 2005 with Jackie Dias as runner-up.

The Ebert's Pot was won by Roshan Dias with Sidath Hemachandra as runner-up.
