CH walks out Kandy awarded win

KANDY Sports Club awarded the Cup Championship at the Singer inter club Professional sevens tournament in a controversial manner when CH and FC walked out shortly after half time during the final played at Longden Place yesterday.

CH and FC decided to walk out soon after their assistant coach Ranidu Atukorale was assaulted by Kandy SC's Nalaka Weerakkody with the scores reading 14-12 in favour of Kandy SC. At this stage the Tournament Committee decided to award the victory to Kandy SC.
