THE unstinted support and co-operation of all would be very valuable
to the President's new approach to the peace process, said Minister of
Rural Industries and Self-employment Promotion S.B. Nawinna.
"We all must work in unity and carefully to bring peace to the
country", he said.
The Minister made these observations at a public meeting after
vesting the newly built Veyangoda weekly fair with the Attanagalla
Pradesiya Sabha.
The Rural Industries Ministry has spent Rs. 4 million to construct
this weekly fair on a Land adjoining the Veyangoda Economic Centre. The
construction work was done by Central Engineering Consultation Bureau.
The prime objective of the present government is to give impetus to
the country's rural agriculture sector as outlined in the Mahinda
Chinthana, Minister Nawinna emphasised.
I am pleased to mention that we don't want to sling mud at others.
Various accusations are being levelled against us, but I must
categorically state that we are committed to create a consensus among
all political parties to bring peace to the country.
We don't want to sling mud at anyone. We have to find a solution to
the North-East conflict to develop this country. Therefore we all must
extend our unstinted support to the President on his new approach to
achieving a permanent peace, Minister Nawinna stressed.
Gampaha District Parliamentarian Sarathchandra Rajakaruna said, this
Economic Centre at Veyangoda once completed would serve as a modern
economic centre for farmers of the area and customers. |
