Kiralakele natural sanctuary to be developed

STEPS are to be taken to develop Kiralakele natural sanctuary close to the Matara town, in keeping with recommendation of the Southern Development Authority.

The Authority will implement the project with the support and collaboration of the private sector. The Sector Natural Santuary covers 750 acres of land and has the visits of birds and trees unique to it.

Care will be taken not to cause harm to the existing environment, but make it money spinning surroundings to the people live closely, making it more attractive to the foreign visitors and tourists.

Ports, Aviation and Foreign Affairs Minister Mangala Samaraweera who initiated the project to develop Kiralakele visited the area on Saturday, January 28.
