National Skills Competition begins today

The second National Skills Competition for Technical Colleges will take place today at the Ratmalana Technical College.

This competition is one of the activities of the project on Japan-Sri Lanka College of Technology, implemented since July 2005, in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Technical Education and Training Department.

One of the expected outputs for the project is to improve DTET training management. To conduct the national skills competition is an important role to achieve this output.

The competition will promote the vocational skills development in different fields of technical education and training, motivate young trainees in enhancing their skills level and also increase public awareness the social and economic status of young skilled workers.
