NCE trade delegation to Chennai

The National Chamber of Exporters (NCE) in consultation with the
Government Trade Representatives in Chennai and Mumbai will lead a trade
delegation to Chennai and Mumbai in March to promote exports of Lankan
products. The potential products will be promoted utilizing the duty
concessions available under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement.
It is proposed that the delegation will spend 2 days in Chennai and 2
days in Mumbai as suggested by the Sri Lankan Trade Representatives.
Products such as spices, ceramicware, MDF Boards, floor tiles,wall
tiles, vitrified tiles, Pine wood logs, porcelain tableware, Ice Cream
Machines, Furniture, Gift Items, Chemicals, Biscuits and Confectionery
Items, Desiccated Coconut, Latex Gloves, Garments will be promoted in
the Indian Market.
"The programme includes one to one business meetings for individual
NCE Member exporters, with identified Indian Counterparts, once the
composition of the delegation is finalised, said NCE, Project Director,
L. S. G. Tilakaratne.
The Lankan Government Trade Representatives will also organise
plenary discussions with important Indian Chambers of Trade. Commerce
and Industry in Chennai and Mumbai, the officer said. |
