Dr. Wijesekera new SLSI chief

Dr. A. R. L. Wijesekera has been appointed Chairman of Sri Lanka Standards Institution (SLSI). He holds a Doctor of Science from a University in the USA and Masters in Forensic Science from the Strathclyde University, Glasgow, UK.

Wijesekera was the SLSI Chairman from 1998 to 2000.

He is a former Government Analyst and a Consultant to the UNDCP and WHO. He is presently serving as a consultant in Narcotics at the National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.

Wijesekera is the only scientist who received the Dr. W. D. L. Fernando Memorial Gold Medal oration for his contribution to Forensic science field in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Wijesekera is also an excellent sportsman.
