THE Sri Lanka Tourist Board participated in the Adventure in Travel
Expo Luxury Travel Fair in New York from 13th - 15th January on a
proposal made by the Director US for the Sri Lanka Tourist Board Dillan
Ariyawansa.
The Sri Lanka Tourist Board participated at the Adventures in Travel
Expo/ New York Luxury Show in the year 2003 and 2004.
In the year 2003 four travel companies from Sri Lanka took part along
with the Sri Lanka Tourist Board.
It was also decided to improve airlinks between the two countries.
Sri Lanka obtained good publicity as an Island destination in the US
due to the tsunami. Also Sri Lankan AirLines, flies to Dubai about three
times daily and there is a connecting flight from Dubai to JFK on
Emirates on a daily basis which has soughted out the accessibility to
Sri Lanka to a great extent. The total flying time would be
approximately 19 hours from Colombo to JFK. |
