Vogue first to receive ISO certification in jewellery industry
Vogue Jewellers is the first jeweller in the industry to receive the
ISO 9001: 2000 certification. "This is an accomplishment which we are
proud of" said Managing Director Vogue Jewellers, Anura Parakrama
Hemachandra, addressing the gathering to witness the awarding of the ISO
certification by First Lady Shiranthi Rajapakse.

The internationally sought for ISO certification, the office
headquartered in Geneva, was awarded to Vogue Jewellers by its
authorised representative for Asia, ICS India.
In Sri Lanka was Managing Director ICS India, Sundar Kataria and the
local ISO Consultant, Lal Fonseka to make the presentation.
Amongst Vogue Jewellers innovations is the Lasso they introduced to
the Sri Lankan market, the illuminated Chandelier earrings worn by
Yvonne Gulamhussein to usher the New Year of a bygone era and many other
innovations which led to Vogue becoming jewellers to the rich and famous
of the swinging '60s'.
"Vogue set the pattern and the rest of the industry soon followed, a
trend that continues even to this day" said Director Vogue Jewellers,
Nandadeva Perera.
"A great deal of the Company's success must be attributed to its
staff who todate number over 350, of these over 200 being craftsmen,
Perera said.
Simultaneously Vogue also launched its website with Media and
Information Minister Anura Priyadharshana Yapa initiating it. |
