Death toll in Haj stampede over 200

JEDDAH, Saudi Arabia, (AFP)

At least 200 people were killed yesterday in a stampede at the procession symbolising the stoning of the devil during the annual Haj pilgrimage, medical sources told AFP.

"The number of killed is at least 200," a medical source at Mina General Hospital told AFP. "The figure is due to rise because most of the victims are in critical condition," he said.
