Ronaldo out for three weeks with calf injury
MADRID,
Tuesday (Reuters) Real Madrid striker Ronaldo will be sidelined for
three weeks after suffering a recurrence of a calf injury in his right
leg, the Primera Liga club said on Monday.
The Brazil international, who sustained the original injury when he
resumed training after the winter break, returned to action against
Villarreal on Sunday after missing his side's King's Cup tie against
Athletic Bilbao last Tuesday.
He only survived 33 minutes before limping off. The game ended
goalless.
Ronaldo has had a difficult season with Real so far, missing all six
of their Champions League matches because of injury and suspension, and
struggling for fitness after an ankle injury he collected against
Atletico Madrid in October.
Ronaldo misses his side's King's Cup second leg tie against Bilbao on
Thursday and could miss the quarter-finals if Real progress, as well as
up to three league games. |
