Oracle to establish new partnerships here

Sri Lanka is having high growth rate and Oracle is keen on
establishing new partnerships with Sri Lanka, said Senior Vice President
Geographies of Oracle Asia Pacific Kith Budge at a press conference
which was held in Mumbai yesterday.
Oracle expects to establish nearly 1500 new partnerships across the
Asia Pacific in the near future. We are considering more on growing
economies in South Asia, Budge said.
Budge also said that Oracle hopes to work together with Sri Lankan
government to enhance the e - governance initiative. Oracle has built up
strong presence as a partner to the Sri Lankan economy and community by
providing a full range of products and services through its established
network of partners.
Oracle commenced operations in Sri Lanka in 1991. At present Oracle
has 75 customers in sectors such as financial services,
telecommunications and manufacturing in the country.
According to Budge, their application market has grown by 48 percent
and database has been grown by 9 percent in Asia Pacific. Company also
able to gain 400 business opportunities in financial sector.
Oracle also announced that India's Grid index has jumped up more than
52% in the last year and it is the fastest Grid index growth in the
world. Grid computing is the pooling of IT recourses into a single set
of shared services for all enterprise computing needs.

Pacific said the Grid technology with the use of many servers and
storages act as one large computer and will provide the opportunity to
be much competitive for countries like Sri Lanka which has identified
the importance of the latest technology. |
