Lack of Opposition response led to delay in forming Constitutional Council

The delay in forming the Constitutional Council was due to a lack of response from the Leader of the Opposition in naming their member to the council, Presidential sources said.

Presidential sources said that it was the Opposition party who was responsible for the delay in the creation of the Constitutional Council.

The sources also said there was no delay on the part of the President in setting up the Constitutional Council. The Opposition Leader has not yet named the members from his side.

Meanwhile, the sources also said that even the Muslim political parties were yet to submit the name of their nominee for the proposed Constitutional Council.
