PLOTE member abducted by LTTE

A PLOTE member was abducted by a group suspected to be the LTTE on Saturday night in Vavuniya, Defence sources said.

Krishnaswamy Thirunavukarasu, 26, alias Mani was abducted at his home in Veppamkulam, Vavuniya around 9.00 p.m. on Saturday.

Sources said he was taken away from his house by a group posing as Police Officers in a van towards the LTTE dominated areas. Vavuniya Police said no one has been arrested. PLOTE leader D. Siddarthan said one of their cadres had been abducted and suspect it was the LTTE.

"This is very clear that the LTTE is trying to weaken all other Tamil parties not agreeing with its idealogy," he told the Daily News.
