Abacus signs up with SLT

A comprehensive and innovative Virtual Private Network (VPN) was designed and implemented by Softlogic Computers with the use of Allied Telesyn networking products, for ABACUS International Lanka (Pvt) Ltd., the National Marketing Company for Abacus International.

Asia-Pacific's leading travel facilitator and market leader, with around 11,000 agency locations in 22 markets. Abacus provides travel information and reservation specifically tailored to the Asia Pacific region. Abacus International Lanka (Pvt) Ltd. is a joint venture with Softlogic Holdings (Pvt) Ltd.

Sri Lanka Telecom was the choice for providing the VPN services to Abacus. SLTs high quality IP VPN infrastructure was specifically used due to its reliability and in keeping with ABACUS' intention to implement the network over wired media rather than wireless technologies.

After a study and consideration of all available technologies offered by different vendors SLT was chosen as the preferred service provider.

Additionally, the long term objective of Abacus was to have the necessary infrastructure in place to enable a smooth transition to the desired IP platform to accommodate Abacus' future plans for new and innovative product lines.

This system implemented by Softlogic Computers would help Abacus to improve their ROI(return on investment) by increasing efficiency while at the same time cutting down cost. Softlogic Computers is a subsidiary of Softlogic Holdings, a global player which employs over 500 people in their offices located in Sri Lanka, Australia, Singapore and Pakistan.
