Red Hat completes tsunami projects

Red Hat, a leading provider of open source solutions to the enterprise, recently dedicated completed houses in Negombo to families that were affected by the Tsunami last December.

Vice President and Director of Government Programs Barry Duplantis who attended the dedication ceremony said Red Hat chose Sri Lanka because of its lowest per capita population segment that were affected.

Red Hat collaborated with the North Carolina State University to contribute towards the construction of seven houses to affected families in Negombo and restoration of a handloom factory in Kalmunai.

Duplantis added they chose to working with university students as it also exposes them to social projects and exercises their leadership qualities.

Duplantis also met with industry personnel including officials of the Information Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka and key partners.
