B'desh offers reward on suicide bombers

DHAKA, Tuesday (AFP) - Bangladesh announced a reward for information leading to the arrest of top Islamic militants and their suicide bombers waging a bloody campaign to impose Islamic law.

The government offered one million taka (15,385 dollars) for help leading to the arrest of decision makers of banned group Jamayetul Mujahideen, the home ministry said.

Eight decision makers form the Jamayetul Mujahideen's highest body called the Majlish-e-Sura, ministry spokesman Shahinur Mia said, adding that three of them had already been arrested.

The government also offered 200,000 taka for information on members of the group's suicide squad and 100,000 taka for information on "active" Jamayetul Mujahideen members.
