BADURALIYA CC made a sensational start to division one cricket when they took first innings points over Tamil Union on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match played at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium yesterday.

Tamil Union: 106 (N. Perera 20, P. Liyanage 7 for 33, S. Perera 2 for 13).

Baduraliya CC: 153 for 9 (S. Perera 69, N. Ranjith 2 for 43, R. Dias 5 for 47, P. Jayaprakash 2 for 31)


Jeevantha, Indika rock Saracens

SKIPPER Jeevantha Kulatunga and Indika Gallage shared nine wickets between them as Colts CC bundled out Saracens SC for just 65 runs and went on to take first innings points on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match played at Havelock Park yesterday.

Saracens SC: 65 (N. Abeyratne 16, I. Gallage 5 for 28, J. Kulatunga 4 for 17).

Colts CC: 150 for 6 (M. Warnapura 23, S. Fernando 53 n.o, N. Wickremaratne 22 n.o, P. Nishantha 4 for 60)


Chaminda 4 for 40

PACEMAN Chaminda Hathurusinghe captured four wickets for 40 as Lankan CC making their first appearance in the top division produced an excellent performance to dismiss SSC for a modest 193 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match played at Maitland Place yesterday.

SSC: 193 (R. Fernando 63, K. Lokuarachchi 53, N. Soysa 25, G. Fernando 3 for 26, C. Pushpalal 2 for 52, C. Hathurusinghe 4 for 40).

Weeraratne (76) helps Ragama CC

ALL rounder Kaushalya Weeraratne hit a fighting knock of 76 to help Ragama CC reach 191 in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match against Singha SC played at the Uyanwatte Stadium in Matara yesterday.

Ragama CC: 191 (D. Perera 26, K. Weeraratne 76, A. Wettasinghe 3 or 46, G. Sirisoma 4 for 50, R. Mendis 3 for 31).

Singha SC: 47 for 3.


Bloomfield amass 327

THREE good half centuries from Kumar Dharmasena (64), Shanuka Dissanayake (50) and Gihan de Silva (74) helped Bloomfield reach a formidable 327 runs in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match against Kurunegala YCC played at Reid Avenue yesterday.

CCC were well placed at 90 for no loss in reply to Sebastianite SC's first innings total of 154 runs on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match played at Maitland Crescent yesterday.

A captains knock from Arnold

TEST discard Russell Arnold hit a captains knock of 127 with one six and twelve fours as NCC piled up 368 for 9 in their first innings on the opening day of their Premier League division one cricket tournament match against Police SC played at the Police Park yesterday.

NCC: 368 for 9 decl (K. Gunawardena 48, K. Kulasekera 38, R. Arnold 127, U. Chandana 53, R. Pushpakumara 52 n.o, A. Priyantha 5 for 109).

Air Force 252; BRC 55-1
