Holiday specials from Bandarawela Holiday Home

BANDARAWELA Holiday Home is offering holiday specials for Sri Lankans who wish to spend a memorable holiday during the forthcoming festive season. Special discounted rates are offered to Sri Lankan families and expatriates to celebrate Christmas and the New Year in the cool climes of Bandarawela.

The offer is made from December 10 to January 10, 2006, a spokesman for the hotel said.

Bandarawela Holiday Home, which is an ideal family home, is built on a mountain in a most scenic location on Senanayake Mawatha, giving guests a scenic view of the Bandarawela town and the surrounding tea estates and hill country.

Special holiday menus have been planned to offer guests delicious western and Sri Lankan cuisine.

The hotel will also offer visitors special facilities to explore some of the famous tourist attractions such as visits to Rawana Ella, Diyaluma waterfall, Dunhinda waterfall, 'World's End', Dowa Rock Temple and the famous Bogoda Wooden Bridge, Hakgala Botanical Garden and tea plantations.

The restaurant at the hotel could accommodate over 100 guests. The guest rooms at Bandarawela Holiday Home are equipped with all modern facilities including hot water, room service etc.

It is an opportunity for Sri Lankans and expatriates to spend a memorable holiday in a cool but moderate climate at an affordable price in Bandarawela during the holiday season, a spokesman for the hotel said.


Seasonal Bonanza at Continental Hotel

THIS season too the Continental Hotel has great plans for its customers.

La Patisserie offers the best of sweets, Pastries, cakes and Puddings like Dutch Breudher, Xmas Stollen, Minced Pies and Gingerbread Santa.

There is a great fare in Christmas Hampers too.

The Heist Bar is having seasonal cocktails on offer with live entertainment 6 days a week. Fashion shows featuring leading models and clothes designed by Sharmini of Silk Wrap will continue to entertain right through the season at the bar every Friday and Saturday.

The Bishop's College Choir will sing christmas carols by the christmas tree in the Lobby on the 23rd and 24th December 7.30 - 8.30 pm.

The hotel has made elaborate arrangements to welcome the New Year with a big bang.

According to Onitha Gurugalle the Public Relations Executive of the Continental Hotel they have made plans to fly down the group MIRAGE which is currently performing in Dubai specially for this event.

The band is billed to play at the Golden Ballroom along with DJs from the Gold FM Radio Channel.

The evening which starts at 9.30 pm includes a sumptuous international dinner buffet and a traditional Sri Lankan style breakfast. Dress code is strictly Lounge.

Ideal Travels to explore Indian, ME markets
