JVP on Tiger attack on helicopter

A JVP media release yesterday referring to LTTE attempts to bring down an Air Force helicopter that was to transport Margarita Bonvier, the visiting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy at Arugam Bay Potuvil on Wednesday urged people here and abroad to forge themselves in unity to curb the LTTE mania of political terrorism.

Though the Italian Foreign Minister was not on board when the helicopter came under fire, the possibility of the Italian Ambassador being the LTTE target cannot be ruled out, the release said.

The release said LTTE attacks target not only their enemies but Sinhalese, Tamils and Muslims and members of the Police, Armed forces and diplomatic corps.
