President to meet Catholic Bishops today

PRESIDENT Mahinda Rajapakse will meet the Catholic Bishops at Temple Trees at noon today.

Bad weather warning

A low pressure area has formed in the Southwest Bay of Bengal and it was centered around latitude 05N longitude 89E at 8.00 a.m. yesterday, December 15. The distance of the system is about 600 km Southeast of Hambantota.

Fairly strong winds, moderate to heavy rain and rough seas are expected near and around the system.

Fishing and Naval communities are advised not to venture in to the shallow and deep seas off east and southeast coasts of Sri Lanka.
