Chinese envoy calls on Mangala

CHINESE Ambassador Sun Guoxiang paid a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Mangala Samaraweera on Tuesday, a Foreign Ministry release said.

During the discussion, the Minister brought to the Ambassador's notice difficulties faced by Sri Lankan businessmen in obtaining Hong Kong visa and inconveniences they faced in entering Hong Kong.

The Minister also informed him that the Foreign Ministry will submit a comprehensive report to the Chinese authorities for their consideration.

The Ambassador assured the Minister that he will request the Chinese authorities to look into this and remedy the situation in consultation with Hong Kong authorities.
