Sri Pada festive season tomorrow

The Sri Pada festive season begins tomorrow with the deposition of the Sacred Relics and costumes of God Saman at the Devale on the top of Samanala Kanda.

The motorcade is due to leave at the auspicious time, 7.00 a.m. from Pelmadulla Galpottawala, Sri Pada Raja Maha Vihara. The Sri Pada Maha Maluwa will be open for pilgrims on Unduvap Maha Poya day.

District Secretary, Ratnapura, Malini Premaratna, head of the organising committee, is in charge of the over-all ceremonial programme of the event.
