Four die after consuming illicit liquor
 

Four people died on admission to Matara Hospital after consuming liquor from a kasippu booth near the third mile post at Kekanadura, Matara on Thursday. Sixteen others who had consumed the illicit brew are receiving treatment at the hospital for various complications.

Three are in a critical condition, according to hospital sources.

The deceased are M.E. Peter (50), K.G. Gunapala (55), K.G. Prematilleke (32) and D.H. Wilfred (50).

Matara Police are investigating directed by ASP D.M. Karunanayake.
