At the edge of wilderness

Flamingoes Safari Resort

Situated in deep interior of the Southern Province on the Wellawaya Road in Weerawila, the eco-friendly resort "Flamingoes Safari Resort" provides an excellent rendezvous for local and foreign holiday makers to enjoy the environment of pristine beauty. The hotel is managed by internationally experienced hotelier T.K.S Indika Kumara and a dedicated team of young stewards. Local and foreign guests could taste Sri Lankan, Chinese and any dish on demand prepared to the international standards by experienced Chef and kitchen staff. One of the extra benefits that tourists are availed at the eco-friendly resort is that they could enjoy a natural bath in cool water of the Weerawila tank and also taste fresh-water fish which is a not-miss-to-be-dish served at " Flamingoes". The resort has AC and Non-Ac rooms and a bar.

"I decided to put up this resort after I served at various restaurants here and abroad because I thought that this location on the edge of the picturesque Weerawila tank which rekindled the imagination of late film idol Gamini Fonseka who set up a restaurant not very far from here, is an ideal location for local and foreign tourists to escape from concrete-filled synthetic environment and to enjoy fresh air, forest and indigenous varieties of fish and fresh curd. As the restaurant is situated on Wellawaya-Weerawila main road, it is easily accessible and the hotel also provides Jeep services for tourists who wish to visit Yala or Bundala national parks situated 8-10 kilometres from the resort," said Indika Kumara, present owner of the restaurant.

"Flamingoes" is the ideal eco-friendly resort for travel-weary tourists who could rest a bit and refresh themselves under the care of the "Flamingoes" team in a place not far from hottest destinations of the country.
