Singapore airlines to launch supplementary flights from October

SINGAPORE Airlines has introduced supplementary flights to Taipei, Adelaide, and Perth, to cater for the strong demand for travel to and from these cities.

For the Northern Winter (30 October 2005 to 25 March 2006), Singapore Airlines will mount three flights every week to Taipei. The additional flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, and will raise frequencies to the city to 17 times a week.

Singapore Airlines will also be operating more flights to select cities in Australia. Perth will be served three times daily (21 flights weekly) during the peak travel period of 2 November 2005 to 27 January 2006, up from 18 times weekly now.

The number of flights to Adelaide will also increase from four to five times weekly in the winter season. The additional flight will depart Singapore on Mondays.

The extra flights are part of Singapore Airlines' ongoing efforts to match capacity with demand, and will see more use of supplementary flights during peak seasons for some destinations.

The supplementary flights will be operated using the Airline's B777-200 aircraft. All increases are subject to government approval.
