Establishment of 'Early Childhood Development Information Unit'
AN Early Childhood Development and Pre-Schools Information Unit has
been established for the first time in Sri Lanka.
In co-ordination with the "Lyceum-Tharuni" Early Childhood
Development and Pre-School Teacher Training Project, sponsored by Lyceum
International School, Nugegoda in association with the Associated News
Papers of Ceylon Ltd. This information unit will collect data of all
island centres of this nature and provide them with free service
facilities.
Assignment vacancies in the Early Childhood Development and
Pre-School field, training in English language, conducting seminars and
workshops, opening avenues for the purchase of best Pre-School
requisites at fair and reasonable prices, providing curricula and
counselling facilities pertaining to the field are some of the services
by this Information Unit for Early Childhood Development and Pre-School
teachers.
Managing Director of chain of Lyceum International Schools Mohan Lal
Grero said this project is timely need for the nutriment and betterment
of the Early Childhood Development Pre-School ield, which has not so far
drawn the attention of the educational sector and that he greatfuly
appreciates the co-operation extended by the Associated Newspapers of
Ceylon Ltd, to a national programme of this nature. |
