President congratulated

OLD Nalandians' Sports Club has congratulated the newly elected President Mahinda Rajapakse.

Old Nalandians' Sports Club President Daya Abeysekera said that over a period of 81 years, Nalanda has produced a large number of eminent and renowned personalities in many different fields.

In April 2004, the name Mahinda Rajapakse was written in golden letters in the History Book of Nalanda when he brought so much glory to us, by becoming the first Nalandian to be the Prime Minister.

At the subsequent felicitation ceremonies and the meeting followed by the opening of our swimming pool on August 4, 2005 we prayed, blessed and hoped that you will be our next President.

As you celebrated your 60th birthday on November 18, 2005 you fulfilled our aspirations and expectations by becoming the fifth Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka.

"On behalf od the Executive Committee and all members of the Old Nalandians' Sports Club I write to convey our warmest congratulations on your election as our new Executive President. May you have the courage and strength to face any challenge. May all your dreams come true. May the Noble Triple Gem bless you, guide you and protect you," Daya Abeysekera said.
