Saman Kumara does Lanka proud

PRIYADHARSHANA Saman Kumara, President of Sri Lanka Haritha Mithuro (Sri Lanka Green Friends) has won the first place in the South Asia's Excellent Young Programme Producer International Award offered by the Environment and Information Centre of Washington, United States of America.

He will receive the award in Washington on Monday.

Kumara was selected for the first place in South Asia from among 97 countries which participated in the contest. He had been recognised for various Environmental and Social Service Programmes he launched which included video presentations and radio programmes.

He had also compiled several Environmental Papers and Magazines and has given leadership to international programme exchanges.

Kumara is also a relief announcer at the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation.
