Counterfeit US dollar notes seized

PERADENIYA Police acting on a tip off raided a house in Penideniya on Thursday night and seized a stock of counterfeit US dollar notes to the value of Rs. 580,000 and arrested three suspects.

The masterminds behind the racket had brought the notes printed in Negombo to be palmed off as genuine notes to unsuspecting dealers and customers, police said. Investigations are continuing directed.
