Hindustani vocal music recital
An evening of Hindustani vocal music recital by Sujith Priyadarshana
Assistant Lecturer, University of Kelaniya and music teacher at the
Sharada Kala Nikethnaya will be held on December 7, at 6.30 p.m. at the
Indian Cultural Centre, 133, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 4, a release
said yesterday.
Urumayaka Ulpath on Sirasa TV
The next step of the Urumayaka Ulpath programme will be telecast on
Sunday at 8.30 a.m. on Sirasa TV. It is a discussion between Milinda
Moragoda and Ven. Bandarawella Amithananda Thera. Urumayaka Ulpath
telecast every Sunday is based on cultural, heritage and religious
matters with eminent persons. This programme will discuss Buddhist
heritage and its values.
Course on health and anaesthesia in captive elephants
A Postgraduate Training Programme for Veterinary Surgeons involved in
providing elephant tranquillisation services to religious, cultural and
State functions will be held on December 3, at the Postgraduate
Institute of Science (PGIS), University of Peradeniya.
The programme is organised by the PGIS in collaboration with the
Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences of the University of
Peradeniya and supported by Diyawadana Nilame, Pradeep Nilanga Dela
Bandara who is also the President of the Sri Lanka Captive Elephant
Owners' Association.
Christmas sale
A grand Christmas sale will be held on Sunday at the Parish Hall of
St. Michael's Church, Polwatte, Kollupitiya from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. A
variety of items including Christmas goodies will be on sale. The sale
is organised by the Adult Fellowship in aid of their projects to help
the less fortunate. |
