Dengue fear in Trincomalee

The fear of dengue spreading in Trincomalee is increasing with the commencement of the rainy season.

According to Health Department sources, dengue mosquitos have been observed at North Coast Road, Central Road, Railway station area, Sirimapura, Thirukadalur and Konesapuri within Trincomalee urban limits and arrangements are being made to control dengue mosquito vector to check the spreading of the disease.

People in the danger areas have been told to destroy empty cans, coconut shells and things that can retain rain water.

Awareness and cleaning programmes are also being conducted.
