SriLankan to resume direct flights to Australia

LONDON Nov. 17 - SriLankan airlines would be resuming their direct
flight to Australia soon," CEO SriLankan airlines Peter Hill.
Hill said that they have a lot of plans to market Sri Lanka and the
national carrier is now in the process of introducing new destination
next year.
"The new destinations would cover two additional flights to the
Indian sub continent, Africa," he said.
The response for the SriLankan airline stall is very encouraging and
they are having a tremendous response from many people visiting the
stand at the exhibition center," said
He also said that only 5 per cent of the land was affected by the
tsunami and the WTM is an ideal opportunity to tell this to the world.
He also praised the work done by the Sri Lanka Tourist Board to market
Sri Lanka after the tsunami.
Meanwhile WTM's Business Broadcasting Partner CNN -conducted a
discussion, 'Is the Industry Forgetting its most profitable passenger'.
World Travel Market has brought together four major players with the
airline industry to discuss the issue including the Head of UK Sales and
Marketing, British Airways Alan Burnett, CEO Sri Lankan Airlines Peter
