PERC Chairman resigns
Chairman, Public Enterprises Reform Commission (PERC) Nihal Sri
Ameresekere has resigned from PERC with effect from November 11.
In a letter to President, Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga, he has
stated that he would be also resigning from two other posts he held.
Following is the letter sent by Ameresekera to the president: I write
with reference to my Letter dated September 5 2005, whereby I intimated,
for the personal reasons stated therein, that I wished to progressively
relinquish the appointments held by me, and the subsequent discussion
had on September 7, whereat you requested me to continue for sometime.
Accordingly, having continued for 2 months, I tender my resignation
from the post of Chairman and Member of the Public Enterprises Reform
Commission of Sri Lanka to be effective from, November 11. I am also
hereby tendering my resignation to be effective from, November 11, from
the posts of Chairman & Director, Private Sector Infrastructure
Development Co. Ltd. and Chairman and Director, Hotel Developers (Lanka)
Ltd, to which posts, on your nomination, I was appointed by the Minister
of Finance. |
