Left Parties meeting on Monday

The Five Left parties (Sri Lanka Sama Samaja party, Communist Party, Mahajana Party, Desha Vimukthi Janatha Party and the Democratic Left Front will hold a meeting in support of UPFA Presidential Candidate Mahinda Rajapakse at the Sugeeswara Hall, Borella at 5 p.m. on November 7. .

Meanwhile, a seminar focusing on a comparative analysis of manifestos of UNP and UPFA candidates will be held at the Kamkaru Sevana, Ratmalana at 10 a.m. on Saturday.


Malays role in polls

A special general meeting for COSLAM members to discuss ways of mobilising the Malay vote in a meaningful manner will be held tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. at YMMA Conference Auditorium, 63, Sri Vajiragnana Mawatha, Colombo 9.

All Malays are welcome.


Special discussion

A special discussion between Parliamentarian Milinda Moragoda and Kingsley Ratnayake will be telecast on November 8 at 10.15 p.m. over Sirasa TV.

This will focus on perceptions of the UNP for the current economic problems and about future of the peace process.


Ramazan talk on ITN

The Eid-Ul-Fitr Ramazam festival programme will be telecast over ITN today at 9.45 a.m.

A discussion on Eid-Ul-Fitr will be presented by media personnel Javid Munawwar. Ash Sheik M.H. Shafi Hussain (Naleemi) and Sri Lanka Islamic Society President M. Ruzaik Farook will participate in a discussion. Islamic songs in Sinhala by Roshan Fowmy will be presented the programme producer is Siddeek Haniffa.


lecture on heart disease

Dr. Bimal Chhajer, one of India's leading Cardiac Specialists from Saaol Heart Centre, New Delhi will deliver a lecture on 'Prevention and Reversal of Heart Disease' on November 8 at 6.30 p.m. at the Indian Cultural Centre, 133, Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 04.
