Maestro Khemadasa legend for future generation

"The duty of all concerned is to protect musical knowledge talent and experiences of Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa for the benefit of future generations," said Urban Development and Water Supply Minister Dinesh Gunawardhana.

He made these observations after handing over to Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa, the documents relating to a land in Colombo Municipal Limits which was allocated to the Khemadasa Foundation at the Kandy General Hospital.

The 30 perch land in Thimbirigasyaya Divisional Secretariat division was donated to Khemadasa Foundation by the Urban Development Ministry.

Minister Gunawardhana said "the Cabinet Paper seeking the approval to hand over the said land to the Khemadasa Foundation was fully endorsed by President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga and Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse.

"They were of the view that the donation should be done in recognition of his service to the national music," the Minister said.

Consultant Surgeon Dr. P. K. Harischandra also participated.
