SAARC Business Conclave in Delhi

"SAARC Business Leaders Conclave on South Asia Regional Integration and Growth" will be held on November 17 and 18, in New Delhi India.

The two-day event is being organised by India's apex Chamber Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FICCI).

SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) is the only Chamber of Commerce in the SAARC region, which is officially recognised by SAARC. FICCI, along with six other Apex Chambers from SAARC countries is the promoter of SCCI.

World Bank has agreed to support this Conclave as a "Knowledge Partner". South Asian countries have drawn up a comprehensive agenda for promoting intra-regional economic cooperation. Even while the South Asian Government's move towards creating the enabling framework and aligning their trade regimes for the eventual creation of a South Asian Economic Union, it is evident that the private sector will have to drive this agenda.

SAARC Business Leaders Conclave is an attempt by the private sector of SAARC towards realising the aspiration of South Asian Economic Integration.

The Conclave will bring together on one-platform networks of business, diplomatic and developmental community across South Asia for achieving higher economic growth and reducing poverty.

Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh, will inaugurate the First SAARC Business Leaders Conclave, to be held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi, on November 17.
