PA to strengthen Rajapakse campaign

The leaders of the United People's Alliance who met at President's House yesterday under the auspices of President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga after lengthy deliberation decided to further strengthen the candidature of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse at the forthcoming Presidential Election while preserving the principles and identity of each of the Constituent paries.

A news release issued by PA General Secretary D.M. Jayaratne said the parties would actively work to ensure Rajapakse's victory. Minister Anura Bandaranaike has also reiterated his support to Prime Minister Rajapakse.
