Sunmo three-wheelers here

A Chinese Company has assembled a three-wheeler for the Sri Lankan market and it was launched in Colombo last week. Suncity Trading Limited, a subsidiary of the Suncity Group is marketing the product. Over 300 brand new wheelers are being sold in Sri Lanka each day in addition to second hand transactions. This was the reason for the company to import three-wheelers. "We saw a growing market," said Group Financial Controller A. J. Weerasinghe.

Suncity Trading Ltd has already invested Rs. 30 million for an assembling plant in Moratuwa. The three-wheelers manufactured under the brand name Sunmo comes with a 175 CC engine, which makes it suitable, even for up-country use. In addition the Sunmo three-wheelers also has three kick, key and self-start.

For the first time a factory fitted cassette recorder has also been introduced.

Among the other special features on this four stroke three-wheeler are gear position indicator, chrome plated headlights, superior light system and the spacious interior.

He said that they have ample spares and have also arranged finance facilities for three-wheelers. The Sunmo showroom is located in Galle Road, Colombo 3 and the management is hoping to introduce their three-wheelers to the outstations soon. (S.S)
