Sri Lanka under-19 team win by six wickets

THE Sri Lanka under 19 team beat the touring Bangladesh High Performance Squad by six wickets on the Duckworth Lewis method in the first one day match played at the R. Premadasa Stadium yesterday.

The Sri Lanka under 19 team were well ahead in the run rate having reached 185 for 4 in 35.4 overs when rain halted play after Bangladesh had earlier piled up a formidable 269 for 5.

Bangladesh High Performance Squad: 269 for 5 in 50 overs (M. Hussein 88, P. Khan 38, S. Rahaman 33, Al Hassan 34, M. Rahim 46 n.o, Milinda Siriwardena 4 for 45).

Sri Lanka under 19: 185 for 4 in 35.4 overs (Sachithra Serasinghe 65, A. Ketapearachchi 27, Sameera Soysa 37 n.o., Shalika Karunanayake 23 n.o., M. Hussein 2 for 38).
