Trinity and Mahamaya athletes dominate

Trinity College (Boys) with four title wins and Mahamaya Girls College (Girls) with three wins excelled at the Kandy District Kiddies, Junior, Senior and Men and Women's Track and Field Athletic Championship organised by the Kandy District Athletic Association and concluded at the Bogambara Stadium in Kandy.

Trinity College secured wins in the under-9, under-11, under-12, and under-14 championships while Mahamaya Girls College's wins came in under-10, under-9, under-11 championships.

St. Anthony's College, Kandy too did well to win the championship for the age groups of under-10, and under-18.

Wallala A. Ratnayake Central College, Menikhinna famous for their deeds in the athletic field won the two senior events for girls under-16 and under-18 titles.

Over 2000 athletes from the Kandy District participated in this meet.

The Chief Guest at the closing ceremony was former Kandy Sports Club ruggerite and Old Rajan sportsman and General Manager Sri Lanka Telecom, Kandy Chinthaka C. Wijesooriya who distributed the main awards with Mrs. Wijesooriya, Keerthi Abeywickrema, Chandana Ekanayake and others.
