Asian Paints introduces Colour World outlets

Automated tinting and dispensing, believed to be the future of paint retailing in Sri Lanka, has been given more sparkle by Asian Paints, through its Colour World outlets.

Customers can paint the exteriors and interiors of their own homes experimenting with as many shades as they like before they actually buy the paint, through sophisticated new user-friendly software installed at selected Colour World outlets.

Using digital photographs or scans or regular photographs of the areas they wish to paint, Colour World customers can paint their homes on the computers at these outlets, view the end result and then order the exact quantities of paint they need, with the computer calculating the necessary quantities of each shade based on the specifications provided.

Simultaneously, Asian Paints has also increased the number of paint brands available through the Colour World outlets, and is the only paint manufacturer in Sri Lanka to offer six different brands through a single tinting and dispensing system.

"Our Colour World outlets will change the way paint is sold in Sri Lanka," Asian Paints Lanka Director/General Manager Arvind Bindra said.

"The concept of tinting and dispensing to customer requirements, coupled with the features that are unique to the Asian Paints model, delivers benefits to end users as well as paints dealers."

The customer can obtain a shade of his or her choice from a fan deck of more than 1300 shades, or produce an unlimited number or custom shades. Even colours from the shade cards of any other manufacturer can be obtained from Colour World outlets, and the paint comes out fresh and vibrant, he said.

Asian Paints entered the Sri Lankan market in 1999, and manufactures and markets an extensive range of products of international repute including 'Permoglaze,' 'Classique' Interior Emulsion, 'Weathertuff' Exterior Emulsion, 'Autocare' automotive paints, 'Apcolite' exterior varnish, 'Apcolite' wood finishes, enamels, thinners, industrial paints and clear lacquers.
