CWA complains to Bribery Commission

THE Ceylon Workers Alliance (CWA) has complained to the Bribery Commission to probe into an alleged shady deal where Rs. 150 million has been given to the Ceylon Workers Congress (CWC) leadership and its Parliamentarians for pledging support to the UNP candidate Ranil Wickremesinghe at the upcoming Presidential election, CWA General Secretary S. Sathasivam told the Daily News yesterday.

This alleged shady deal had been prompted at a TV programme hosted by a private channel last month, during a 'talk show' between UNPer T. Maheswaran and CWC Vice Chairman R. Yogaraja. Facts pertaining to the same had also been exposed in a Tamil newspaper last month, S. Sathasivam further said.
