Sarasaviya film screenings in Katugastota

THE 30th Sarasaviya film festival will be held on a grand note on October 27. Famous Indian artist Jamuna Rani will be a special guest at this year's festival.

Sarasaviya, along with sponsors Sri Lanka Insurance and Hatton National Bank, are planning to widen the scope of this year's festival, offering outstation film lovers a chance to see some of last year's hot movies in their own areas.

A Sarasaviya film show will be staged on October 14, 15 and 16 at Katugastota's Sigiri Cinema Hall.

Bandara Dissanayake's "Aadaraneeya Vassanaya", (on 14) Buddhi Keerthisena's "Mille Soya" (15) and Udaya Kantha Warnasooriya's "Randiya Dahara" (16) will be screened.

To coincide with the occasion a Sarasaviya sponsored seminar on cinema will be held at the D.S.Senanayake auditorium, Kandy on October 13 from 10.00 a.m to 1.00 p.m. veteran producer, Prasanna Vithanage and Dr. Praneeth Abeysundara are expected to participate.
