Orange wins baggage trolley advertising contract
ORANGE Electric has clinched a deal for outdoor advertising at the
Bandaranaike International Airport. The Company was awarded the brand
advertising rights on all 450 trolleys for a year by the Airport and
Aviation Services Limited (AASL) through a competitive public tender
procedure valued over Rs. 3 million.
With the new arrival wing that opens in November, 450 brand new
locally made Baggage trolleys have been installed by the AASL for the
use of passengers.
"This opportunity to advertise a locally manufactured household
electrical product is strategically important to us so that we interact
our brand with local and foreign passengers arriving into Sri Lanka",
said Orange Electric CEO, Ananda Rajapakse.
Orange is the first company to advertise in English, Sinhala and
Tamil on baggage trolleys at the BIA. This is a novel initiative by a
local company, as 70% of the passengers arriving are Sri Lankans,
returning from foreign employment with dreams of building a new house or
making improvements to their present home," he said.
Orange exports to Europe and Australia over Rs.25 million worth of
electrical switches and sockets a month. "We have planned to increase
our exports to Rs. 100 million a month from the next financial year",
Rajapakse said.
Our company has invested into the manufacturing plants, as it assures
them of a very high quality products and competitive prices," Head of
Commercial and Properties of AASL's Geeth Karunarthne said. |
