Vishaka waterpolo champions

VISHAKA Vidyalaya emerged champions at the recently concluded Inter-School Waterpolo Tournament 2005, winning both Under 15 and 19 age groups.

In the final of Under 15 segment, Vishaka Vidyalaya beat Bishop's College 10-1 for the second consecutive year to retain the championship

In the final of Under 19 tournament Vishaka beat Ladies College in a closely contested encounter. The score at full time stood at 5-all with the Vishaka goals scored by Harshani Warnapura (2) and Shahili Gomes (3). The game was decided on the penalty shoot out, with Vishaka emerging champions.

Vishaka was captained by Romali Tudawe and had the services of five members from Vishaka's National Championship winning team of 2003 in Harshini Warnapura, Prasadhi Perera, Shahili Gomes and Charya Dharmadasa. They were ably supported by Ruvini Ilukkumbura and Kushlani Sellahendige.

On their way to the Under 19 tournament final defeated Bishop's College, 4-1 goals scored for Vishaka by Shahili Gomes (3) Purnima Ratnayake (1).
