TWO Central Provincial Council members S. Arulsamy and P. Deegambaram of the Upcountry People's Front (UPF) have decided to defy of the party leader's decision to support UNP Leader Ranil Wickremesinghe at the Presidential Election.

Those two councillors defying P. Chandrasekaran's decision have decided to support Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse.

According to Arulsamy, out of 27 Pradeshiya Sabha members of the party, 25 had agreed to support Rajapakse. Former Central Provincial Councillor T. Aiyadurai had also decided to follow Arulsamy and Deegambaram.
